Thanksgiving with the Gunthers

After a great Thanksgiving dinner with the Gunthers!

Today was a great day. We were originally going to leave the city today after our break, but we ran into a few issues. We woke up and started packing up our gear and suddenly remembered that we had forgotten to unpack our tent from days ago and let it dry out. We pulled it out of the bag and the actual tent canopy was fine. Then we unrolled the fly. It smelled like mold and rot. There were black mildew stains all over it. So we started searching google for what to do. We ended up washing the fly for a long time. We had to scrub it down with warm soapy water and a sponge on both sides, twice. Then thoroughly rinsing it, and washing it again in a very weak bleach solution for a few minutes. Then we set it out to dry.

By the time we got it done, we were running late for the Thanksgiving dinner that the Gunthers prepared. We headed over to their house from the condo and ate an incredibly amazing Thanksgiving dinner with all of the fixings. It was very nice to have Thanksgiving, although early, with family instead of being out on the road. We had great turkey, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, croissants, cranberries, red wine, stuffing, and pumpkin pie for dessert. Uhhh soo good. We ate like kings and queens. Thank you so much to the Gunthers for a wonderful meal. At this point Dani and I were so full and satisfied there was really no point in leaving so we decided to stick around for one more night and get a good jump on riding tomorrow morning.

After the meal we watched the movie Spinal Tap. Then we packed our things up and headed back to the condo for one last time.

Greg

Thanks again for everything Eric, Sue, Claire, and Chris.
